Brock spring/summer 2027: sheer black tights and kitten heels on the streets of Paris, look by look
Kris Brock debuts his new label, Brock, in Paris: in a lookbook shot on the street, sheer black tights and pointed kitten heels under puffball skirts, lace and taffeta.
Kris Brock presented the first spring/summer collection of his new label, simply called Brock, during Paris Fashion Week. The lookbook WWD published, 19 images courtesy of the brand, is shot on the streets of Paris, against stone facades and wooden doors. In 6 of 19 images the legs wear sheer black tights, almost always with a pointed black kitten heel. The rest is bare-legged, with mules and flat sandals. We went through them one by one.
The collection: Kris Brock's return
Alex Wynne writes in WWD that Brock had closed his Brock Collection label, designed with Laura Vassar, in 2021, burned out by the pace of seasonal collections, and had said he would never launch another brand. A collaboration with V. Chapman earlier this year changed his mind: "I re-fell in love with why I originally got into fashion, which is to make clothes."
The new label costs less than the old one: according to WWD the average dress retails at around $725. The silhouettes are his familiar bohemian ones, played on proportion and volume: barely-there lingerie pieces layered over ruffled skirts, lavish lace, florals taken from an archival wallpaper collection, puffball skirts long at the back and short at the front, in poplin or jacquard. Brock describes it like this: "This is a little more sexy, flirty, fun, but still maintaining that sophistication." WWD adds that the resort collection, released in summer, launches in November on Moda Operandi and direct-to-consumer.
Sheer tights with lace and with a cape: looks 4 and 5
The tights are always the same: black, sheer, with the leg showing through. In look 4, the photo at the top, they go under a sleeveless ruffled black top with a rosette on the shoulder and a black lace pencil skirt, with black pumps: black on black, the lace letting the tights show down to the knee. In look 5 the tights do the job of trousers: under a very full white cape top there is only a pale bodysuit, and the legs are all tights down to the pointed black kitten heels.

Under the puffball skirts: looks 1 and 14
The volume skirts WWD describes work well over dark tights. In look 1 an ecru puffball skirt, under a cropped ruffled black top, falls to mid-calf and shows the sheer black tights and black slingbacks. In look 14 the model lifts a tiered brown striped taffeta skirt with both hands, revealing a black petticoat, the sheer tights and pointed kitten heels.

On the windowsill and in black and white: looks 3 and 16
In look 3 the model sits on a windowsill, in a navy jacket, a lace top and a pale linen skirt: here the black tights look a little more opaque, with pointed black pumps. Look 16 is one of the lookbook's black and white photos: floral print shorts and robe, black tights.

Bare legs
In the other 13 images legs are bare: floor-length lace dresses, the ecru jeans WWD links to the designer's Texan roots, pencil skirts with pointed black mules and flat sandals. There are no coloured tights and no socks.
How to read these legs now
No source names the brand or denier of the tights. Three practical takeaways:
- Sheer black with a kitten heel. A transparent black tight, a light sheer, with a low pointed black shoe: the combination in almost the whole lookbook. To choose the transparency there is our guide to denier.
- Tights under lace. A black lace skirt over sheer black tights shows the leg through two layers of transparency. For more sheer black tights in Paris there is Celine.
- Tights instead of trousers. Under a long, full top, tights are enough: the same idea, in nude, is at Julie Kegels.
For the rest of the season there is our Paris Fashion Week round-up.
The photos
Numbering follows WWD's Brock spring/summer 2027 gallery, 19 images credited as courtesy of the brand. It is a lookbook, not a show: each image is a look. The photos in this article come from that gallery, with credit. The count of 6 of 19 images with tights is ours, from the photos.
