Gucci spring/summer 2027: Demna's black tights and Cardi B's GG monogram pair
At Demna's Gucci SS27 Store Show in Milan, mini-skirt suits came with black tights and pointed pumps; in the front row, Cardi B wore sheer GG monogram tights under white fur.

Spring/summer is supposed to be the season of bare legs, but at Gucci the legs were in black. On 25 September 2026, at Allianz MiCo in Milan, Demna presented Gucci's spring/summer 2027 collection as "The Store Show", inside what The Zoe Report calls a "custom-built replica of a flagship Gucci store". On the runway, short skirt suits came with black tights and pointed pumps. In the front row, Cardi B wore the season's most talked-about pair: sheer black tights covered in the double-G monogram.
These are two different ideas of hosiery, and both are easy to wear right now. Here is what was on the legs, look by look, and how to take each idea home.
The show: a Gucci store as a runway
In the show notes quoted by W Magazine, Demna called the collection his "complete personal vision for the brand". He wrote that his first year at Gucci "was dedicated to understanding what Gucci stands for" and that "Gucci stands for the desire to belong to a more glamorous world". The Zoe Report quotes another line from the same notes: "Gucci is about luxury that wants to be seen."
The set followed that idea. W Magazine describes the set as a full-scale copy of a Gucci flagship, and Coveteur's Faith Xue writes about a show staged in a fake shop, with skirt suits and trouser suits, riding boots with Horsebit hardware and oversized fur coats. Elsa Hosk, Candice Swanepoel and Alex Consani were among the models.
None of these reviews says much about hosiery. The Zoe Report is the exception: it mentions "thigh-grazing mini skirt suits paired with opaque black tights and pointed stiletto pumps".
On the runway: black tights and pointed pumps
The Getty Images photos of the show bear out The Zoe Report. Wherever there are tights, they are black and the shoe is a pointed black pump. Our notes come from the Getty selection, not from the full official lineup, so they are not a complete count.
- The sheer version. Sabine Getty, in a long purple coat over a short black skirt, wears sheer black tights. The leg shows through, and her black pointed pumps match the tights. A model in a mint green cardigan, a tiger-stripe jacket over her shoulders and a black mini skirt wears the same combination.
- The opaque version. Under red, green and blue tartan skirts the tights turn opaque and the stiletto stays pointed, black on one look and metallic on another. This is the formula The Zoe Report described: a 1980s skirt suit with legs in solid black.
- The other legs. One look has opaque black tights with knee-high boots. Another has white socks with black pumps under a green tartan skirt. Elsewhere there are riding boots with Horsebit hardware, according to Coveteur.
The point is not the tights themselves, which are as plain as they come. It is what they do to a very short skirt: a mini with bare legs reads like a night out, the same mini with black tights and a court shoe reads like an office. In our Milan Fashion Week report we called it a uniform, and Demna's runway confirms it.
In the front row: Cardi B's GG monogram tights
The hosiery moment, though, came from the audience. Coveteur describes Cardi B "arriving at the very last minute, swarmed by photographers". Hola's Daniel Neira describes "a voluminous floor-length white faux-fur coat" that opened to reveal "sheer black Gucci monogram tights and pointed black heels". In W Magazine, Natalie Michie adds "a black bodysuit and sheer tights embroidered with double-G logomania", with "straight-across bangs, black lipstick, and general pantlessness". Three weeks later Coveteur included it among the best celebrity looks of the week: "an oversized, dramatic white fur coat and monogrammed Gucci tights".
In the photos, the monogram is a small, dense pattern of interlocking Gs repeated over the whole leg. From a distance it looks like a fine net; close up you can read the logo. The base is sheer black, so the skin shows between the letters. The outfit has no trousers, no skirt and no bag in the frame, so the tights are the only Gucci logo on show, and they carry the whole look.
No source gives the product name or the denier. On 18 October we could not find a sheer GG pair on sale online: the Gucci GG tights listed by Italist are an opaque technical jacquard, and they were sold out.
How to wear the two ideas now
The runway formula: black tights, short skirt, pointed pump.
- Choose the density by the hem. The shorter the skirt, the more opaque the tights can be: from 50–60 denier upwards, opaque reads polished rather than sexy. Sheer black at 15–20 denier is the evening version, as on the purple coat look.
- Match tights and shoe. Black tights and black pumps make one continuous line. Gucci only broke the rule with a metallic stiletto, which works because the tights stay opaque.
- Keep the rest simple. The Gucci looks put the drama in the jacket, the coat or the bag, never in the hosiery.
The Cardi B idea: logo tights as the main piece.
- One logo only. Logo tights work when they are the only branded item. A logomania coat on top turns the look into a costume.
- Pair them with plain black or plain white. Cardi B wore a black bodysuit and a white coat, with nothing printed to compete with the legs.
- Sheer base, small pattern. A sheer base with a small, dense pattern reads like texture at a distance and like a logo up close. Large monograms on an opaque base work more like a print.
- Pointed black shoes. They carry the black of the tights to the floor, as both on the runway and in the front row.
For other ways to wear sheer black this season, see Celine's spring/summer 2027 show, where they also came with pointed pumps.
Where to find similar tights
Our selection in the "Shop the look" box is clearly marked as similar. The Gucci pair on Italist is a GG jacquard, but opaque and not the model Cardi B wore. For a sheer pair with an all-over pattern, Wolford's Sheer Pattern Tights (30 denier, black, £40 in the Wolford outlet on 18 October) are the closest in feel. Calzedonia's Micronet Tights (£15.99) give the fine-net effect without a logo. For the runway formula, any good black opaque from 50 denier works, such as Calzedonia's Matt Soft Comfort 50.
The photos
The photos in this article are official Getty Images embeds by Daniele Venturelli and Vittorio Zunino Celotto for Gucci, and they stay on Getty's servers with their credit. The descriptions of the runway hosiery are ours, based on those photos. Quotes about the collection and about Cardi B come from The Zoe Report, Hola, W Magazine and Coveteur, linked at the bottom of the page.
Frequently asked questions
What tights did Cardi B wear to the Gucci show?
Sheer black tights covered in the Gucci double-G monogram. Hola calls them 'sheer black Gucci monogram tights', W Magazine 'sheer tights embroidered with double-G logomania'. No source gives the product name or the denier.
What tights were on the Gucci spring/summer 2027 runway?
Black ones. The Zoe Report describes 'thigh-grazing mini skirt suits paired with opaque black tights and pointed stiletto pumps', and in the Getty Images photos of the show several looks have black tights, sheer or opaque, always with pointed black pumps.
Can you buy Gucci GG tights?
Gucci makes GG tights, but on 18 October we could not find the sheer pair Cardi B wore on sale. Italist lists an opaque black GG jacquard pair, sold out; Wolford and Calzedonia make sheer patterned and fine-net alternatives for much less.
