A yellow cab with the door open, rain beading on the roof, one leg stepping out. It is the first image Interview published from its shoot with Karol G, cover star of the Fall 2026 issue, and on her legs are Wolford tights: burgundy, shiny, the same colour as the lace bodysuit and the shoes. They are the only credited pair in the shoot, and they are worth a closer look.

Below: what Interview says, how the look is built, and what the credits leave out, including a second pair of tights that nobody signed.

The cover: Interview, issue 569

The cover story went online on 20 October 2026 under the headline "Karol G and Salma Hayek's Fuck-It Year". Salma Hayek asks the questions; the photographs are by Eric Johnson and the styling by Mel Ottenberg, the magazine's editor-in-chief. According to the piece's dateline, the conversation took place on Sunday 13 September 2026 in New York, while the Colombian singer was on tour.

Interview introduces Karol G as the first woman to top the Billboard 200 with a Spanish-language album, a Coachella headliner this year and, with "Still", singing in English for the first time alongside Bruno Mars. Her sixth album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, is described as the most confessional thing she has made. The cover, with the red number 39 football jersey, has no tights: the Wolford look is inside the shoot.

The Wolford look: lace, tights and pumps in one burgundy

On Interview's page the credit reads: "Bodysuit and Shoes Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. Tights Wolford." Bodysuit and shoes are Saint Laurent; the tights are Wolford.

From top to toe, as the photos show: an embroidered burgundy lace bodysuit with a deep neckline; below it, tights in the same shade, with a shiny finish that turns almost pink at the knees and shins under the flash; on the feet, burgundy pointed pumps that look translucent, on a slim heel. The set is a New York taxi in the rain, with scaffolding behind. In the first image of Interview's carousel, the one at the top of this article, Karol G sits on the back seat with one foot on the sill; in the last she reclines across the seat in the same outfit.

The page runs the look alongside the story of her first stadium tour: "It was just having in mind that I could do a stadium," Karol G says, even when her team told her she wasn't ready.

The second pair: blue lace, unsigned

There is another pair of tights in the same shoot. In the look with a black Vaquera bodysuit and shoes and a cream T-shirt with a red number from the Archive of Pat Hackett, Karol G wears cobalt-blue floral lace tights, with a buckled leather cuff and shoes trimmed with black fur. Here Interview does not credit the tights: we don't know the brand and we don't guess it.

In the other five images of the shoot (Coach, Eckhaus Latta, Calvin Klein Collection, Burberry, Versace) the legs are bare or covered by trousers and boots.

The tights: what we know and what we don't

Credited: the brand, Wolford, in the Saint Laurent look. Not credited: the Wolford style, the denier and the colour name. We found no Wolford post about the shoot and no press release from the brand: the credit comes only from Interview's page.

The rest is our reading of the photos: burgundy tights with a shiny finish, semi-opaque, around 30–40 denier judging by how the skin shows through only at the knees. For the blue lace, nothing beyond what you can see.

Why it works

Coloured tights are usually chosen to contrast, so the legs do the talking on their own. Here the opposite happens: lace, tights and shoe form a single burgundy column, and that one colour holds its own against the yellow of the cab. The shine does the rest. A matte pair would have disappeared in the shadow of the back seat; the gloss catches the flash and draws the leg, which is why the picture reads from the legs before the face.

How to wear it

  • Three pieces, one colour. Bodysuit or top, tights and shoe in the same burgundy: the leg becomes a continuation of the garment. More combinations in our burgundy tights guide.
  • Shiny for evening. A 30–40 denier satin pair catches the light like the one in the shoot; by day the same colour works better matte. For the finish, see our piece on Heist's satin tights.
  • Lace on top, not on the leg. With shiny tights, keep the pattern on the bodysuit or skirt: two textures on the leg blur together.
  • Pointed pumps in the same shade. The point lengthens the line; a black shoe would cut it at the ankle.
  • One contrast only. In the shoot it is the yellow cab; in real life it can be a camel coat or a grey blazer, never a second strong colour.

The photos

The shoot images are by Eric Johnson for Interview and are shown through the official embed of Interview's Instagram post, the only one among the posts by Interview, Karol G, Eric Johnson, Mel Ottenberg, Saint Laurent and Wolford that opens on the look with the tights: the other frames from the taxi set are on Interview's page. The cover circle is a photo of Karol G in Viña del Mar in 2023 by TiempoX (CC BY 3.0, Wikimedia Commons), not from the shoot. The cover illustration is ours. For the Austrian brand's background, see our Wolford history.

The cab pulls away, the shoot ends: what stays is the simplest idea to steal, one colour from the waist to the tip of the shoe.
